2002 WSOP Final Table Part 1
The 2002 World Series of Poker is where my interest in poker began. I know Varkonyi got lucky, but his victory definitely made me influenced me, made me feel that I could win at poker too. This was also the first year where the viewer was able to see everyone’s cards and that really helped make poker entertaining for me to watch. Anyway here is the first part of the 2002 Final Table. I hope it inspires some people to play poker, like it did me.

Just clicked on the last of these vids here and saw where Varkonyi knocked out John Shipley. I saw Shipley last week at the Bellagio — recognized him at the time, but couldn’t put a name w/the face until just now. (I think he ended up making it to Day 2, but not further.)
I’ve seen this one a few times — fun stuff. I still think Kaplan is one of the best.
