Doyle’s Room no Longer Accepting US Customers.

Gambling911.com is reporting that Doyle’s Room will leave the US market.

This comes as a surprise to me after how adamant Doyle’s Room has been about staying in the US market since the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act. I chatted with the hosts on numerous occasions and have been told that they planned to stay, stating that the bill did not explicitly make on-line poker illegal.

I emailed upper management a few days ago and am still waiting to hear from them. Their silence supports this press release that Doyle’s Room is indeed leaving the US market, or at least management’s indecision on the situation. If Doyle’s Room were staying they would have responded by now.

Gambling911.com writes:

A press release arrived at the desk of Gambling911.com just prior to noon from two different parties. Representatives from Doyle’s Room, however, quickly advised that a decision to leave the US market had not yet been finalized.

By mid afternoon, the initial press release was declared “official” by Doyles Room representatives. The company will no longer be accepting US customers from hereon in.

And this is what a host at Doyle’s Room poker told me when I asked if it was true that Doyle’s Room would be leaving the US market:

As a result of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act. (UIGEA) DBPN has reluctantly decided not to permit online real money play by USA- based Customers. This is a BIG disappointment to everyone.

Try logging on to Doyle’s room, there’s a message there for all US players. by march, they’re going to ban real money play for all US-based players. However, it seems they have an agreement with Full Tilt. Our action points and money can be transferred to Full Tilt. It’s not that bleak afterall.

Full Tilt’s traffic is more than decent, I do not know how soft the competition is though.

  2. Richard Says:

I’m tempted to do the transfer since that is the easiest way to move my money, but at the same time I heard the competition is tougher than bodog, so I would like to play at Bodog if possible.

  3. donny Says:

Bodog’s the place to go if you’re looking for soft competition. I’m sure you will like it there, expect lots of swing tho’. They will go all-in with anything.

  4. Michael Says:

Donny is right on target about the Bodog players. Loose and aggressive is how a lot of them play and that leads to big swings.

If you need a bonus and RB at Bodog, shoot me an e-mail and I can tell you who is offering it up (it’s not me).

Something to consider about transferring your DR money to FTP: It is very difficult to get funds off FTP once you get them in. They say it takes 35 business days to cut a check and get it to you. The other options, ePassporte and MyWebATM have a lot of fees.

  5. Richard Says:

Michael - Man, I hate loose aggressive players, since I always lose to those types of players by making loose calls and trying to play more aggressive than them. I’m still thinking about the which site to play on, but I’ll shoot you an email if I decide to play at Bodog.

Thanks for the tip about http://FTP. I was thinking about transferring my money there just to test the site, but now I may not. Man, I wish I lived out of the US.

  6. Michael Says:

    Sure thing, Richard.

There are still places to play if you can get funds to them. UB and Absolute have good RB plus bonus signup offers. Stars is a quality site with a lot of games and they are offering a Visa debit card now. I also have been playing at Cake Poker in the past week and the games there look soft, mainly because it is not a PokerTracker-compatible site.

  7. Richard Says:

Oh man, I hate Poker Tracker users. That alone makes Cake Poker a site to look into, especially for a more recreational player like me.

  8. Michael Says:

Cake has made it a point to not cater to Poker Tracker users. They have actually stated on their website that they wanted to have a poker site where tools and aids are not used. You can even change your screen name every 7 days so that you are anonymous.

I can recommend a place where you can get a nice deposit bonus, if interested. ;-)
